Write for Us - Home Decor, Home and Garden, Interior Design

Unlike a lot of other home decor blogs on the web, we’re committed to high quality content. You don’t have to have to have PhD in interior design to contribute, but we’re not looking for 500 words of paraphrased content you found elsewhere so you can cram in a link.

That said, guest posts on prominent sites can be hugely beneficial. Your brand gets in front of a new set of eyeballs, you get a byline to increase your credibility, and your site can get a powerful, relevant backlink.

High Quality Guest Posts

We’re looking for high quality guest posts that provides thorough and helpful answers to common home design and decor questions. Decorating tricky spaces, choosing furniture, deciding on styles, etc… are all topics we’d be open to accepting.

If you are interested in contributing, please fill out the form to the right, make a pitch, and give us a few days to get back to you. If we accept your pitch, we’ll be looking for your draft to come in within the next two weeks in a Google Doc.

Submission to Write for Us

What We’re Looking For in a Guest Post

Strong pitches start with a clear angle and a topic we haven’t already covered in depth. Before submitting, spend a few minutes browsing our recent posts on living room design, kitchen ideas, and home organization so your pitch fills a real gap rather than duplicating existing content. Practical, source-cited guides consistently outperform generic listicles.

Some topic angles we’re actively looking for right now:

    • First-person renovation walkthroughs with photos, timelines, and honest costs
    • Room-by-room styling guides for specific style movements (Japandi, modern farmhouse, coastal grandmillennial)
    • Buyer’s guides that compare three to five specific products with clear picks for common use cases
    • Small-space and rental-friendly solutions that don’t require permanent changes
    • Sustainable home upgrades with realistic ROI on materials, energy, and time
    • Homeowner interviews or contractor perspectives on a specific project category

    Guest Post Submission Guidelines

To keep the review process fast, please structure your submission to meet these expectations up front. Everything below is non-negotiable — pitches that don’t meet the basics are declined without a response.

    • Length: 1,000 words minimum, 1,500 to 2,000 preferred for evergreen topics
    • Originality: 100% original, not previously published or syndicated anywhere
    • Sources: All statistics, quotes, and product claims must link to the original source
    • Do-follow link: One do-follow link back to your site allowed, placed naturally in body copy
    • Author bio: Two to three sentences with a headshot; no promotional language
    • Images: If you provide images, they must be original or clearly licensed for commercial use
    • Format: Google Doc with H2 subheads, short paragraphs, and internal link suggestions where relevant

    Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the review process?

We aim to reply to every pitch within five business days. If your pitch is accepted, we ask that the full draft is delivered within two weeks of acceptance. From draft delivery to publish is typically another one to two weeks depending on edit volume.

    Do you pay guest contributors?

No, this is an unpaid contribution program. In exchange, contributors receive a byline, a do-follow backlink, and placement on a domain with steady organic traffic in the home decor and improvement space.

Can I include affiliate links or sponsored content?

No. We do not accept affiliate links, sponsored placements, or product mentions written to promote a specific brand. If a product is genuinely central to the piece and belongs there, we can discuss it, but the article cannot read as promotional.

Which niche page should I submit through?

Submit through the niche page that best matches your topic. If you’re pitching a broad home improvement guide, use our Write for Us — Home Improvement page. For renovation-specific topics like whole-room remodels, permits, and material selection, use Write for Us — Home Renovation. When in doubt, use this general page and we’ll route it.

Can I republish my post on my own blog after it goes live here?

We ask for a 90-day exclusive window from publish date, after which republishing with a canonical link back to our version is permitted.
