DIY mold removal seems logical — you can see the problem, you can buy products marketed to address it, and professional remediation services carry price tags that give most homeowners pause. But the reality of mold removal is considerably more complicated than it appears, and the consequences of doing it incorrectly can extend far beyond a stubbornly recurring patch of discoloration.
Understanding why DIY mold removal so often falls short — and what it can cost you in the long run — is essential knowledge for any homeowner who has discovered mold growth in their home. The spaces must be evacuated during treatment and adequately ventilated afterward. When DIY Is Actually Appropriate
